I am using the Freebsd 5.4 as the proxy server when I am trying to ping through the proxy as gateway there is no response. When I try traceroute it ends in the proxy server.

I can ping but I cannot browse. Ping times seem to be ok, they are in the 65 ms range. I am pinging google.com. Other computers on the network and smart TV work ok. Before I started attempting to troubleshoot this issue it was an intermittent thing. Oct 15, 2015 · When I check my router settings, I can see an IP address assigned to it. When I ping the IP address, I get replies. If I type the IP address in my browser, I get no response - times out. No matter what I do, I can’t get ANY computer on my network to access the drive. Everything was working with my old DNS server but something with the setting on the new BIND9 server must be wrong and I cannot figure out what. I can ping my web server from the computer with the IP address 192.168.2.23. I have two DL380 G6 servers with an iLO2 interface with updated firmware and drivers. Both iLO interfaces respond to a ping yet I cannot connect to either of them via port 80 or 443. We have a number of other iLO interfaces on thes same subnet which I can connect to, demonstrating it isn't a network problem. I have also tried resetting both.
Nov 19, 2013 · I can get in through the console and I configured the IP address. Now I can ping to the device and I can ping from it. However, I can't access it via telnet, ssh, http, https. This is all within the same telnet so there's no firewall between me and the card. From my workstation, I can access other AP96xx cards on the network, no problem.

ICMP requests (ping) are rather small. If there's intermittent connectivity, the ping command won't likely find it unless you execute ping 8.8.8.8 -t to ping indefinitely until you stop it. It may also be helpful to checking your LAN cables to make sure that they aren't wrapped around any power cables.
Aug 29, 2003 · Thanks lunardreamr. I can now ping and browse with Mozilla. But now I have a peculiar problem. Some websites like Google and Google news load fast but others like Yahoo take a long time - about 10 minutes. Via the Windows box all sites load pretty fast. When I ping Yahoo from both boxes; the average time is roughly the same about 100ms.
ping 66.102.7.106 - that is one of google's servers if it goes thru but you cannot browse then immediately try pinging the router. so to get the routers IP, in the command prompt type: ipconfig the default gateway is the router's ip probably going to be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 then type ping
